Media supply for production robots

We design and manufacture media supplies for production robots. These units are set up directly in front of the robot and provide it with the working media required, such as compressed air, cooling water and process gases. What’s more, flow monitors and pressure switches monitor the media to ensure reliable production.

Our supply units are also adapted to the specific demands of the production process in question, taking into account the applicable constraints. As an example, in body construction (automotive industry), all electrical parts are protected by a soft PVC mat that is resistant to welding spatter. Due to the “harsh” working conditions, all metal components and the parts that come into contact with cooling water are also selected carefully in accordance with their corrosive properties.

Media supply for a spot-welding robot used in body construction

The robot installation plate (RIP) provides compressed air and cooling water to the spot-welding robot. A flow meter is integrated in the flow pipe to monitor the cooling water flow. Thanks to a double ball-valve system, both the flow pipe as well as the cooling water return flow pipe can be closed. A cylinder actuated at the same time ensures pressure equalisation and creates a vacuum. As a result, the worn welding caps can be changed without cooling water leaking.
